MULTIMEDIOCRITY

Nov 26, 2019

On this installment of MULTIMEDIOCRITY: The Broadcast!, Talley and Doofin talk babies, Baby Boomers, and Baby Yoda! This episode might as well be sponsored by Disney, considering how much the gents talk up the company’s new streaming service, and a particular program on it. They discuss the first two episodes of The Mandalorian: its western motifs, that big reveal, and how the series has put a spotlight back on, of all things, the Star Wars Holiday Special. Plus, some thoughts on George Lucas tinkering with the Han and Greedo scene yet again, and creating a new word (and several memes) in the process.

The guys also touch on JOKER, bad lines from otherwise great films, comedy bits and movies that informed their humor, and a pair of solid new HBO shows, His Dark Materials and Watchmen, lamenting how the latter, along with several other recent shows and movies, are being dismissed by some as “woke garbage” for daring to include social commentary in their storytelling. Talley gets a (Disney)plus for the effort, but a minus for his scratchy Muppet voice, while Doofin gives a resounding “meh” to James McAvoy (more like James MehcAvoy, amirite?). Celebrate Life Day with the scruffy-looking nerf herders on episode 48!
